Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

Don Mattrick just announced that Microsoft is back peddling with the XBOne, removing the disastrously awful features we've been bashing them for trying to inflict on us.
    Last week at E3, the excitement, creativity and future of our industry was on display for a global audience.

Please Pants Responsibly (Paper Notebooks FTW)

There are two ways to write a novel.  Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind).  So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me?  Pantser?  I think?  But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid.  And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly.  And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. Starting with paper notebooks.

The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Ok so I just saw Star Wars Episode III:Revenge of the Sith for the second time today (The first was the midnight screening at Chermiside) and it was still jsut as good the second time. I actually found that I was more emotional the second time. Yes, I cried. There are some really sad moments. It's such a great movie, it definately outdoes the first two, and comes pretty close to the standard of the originals. Now I know that the new ones have better special effects and all, but that means nothing when talking about the standard of story. I would have to say this it comes in a very close second as my favourite movie, after Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

I was very impressed with the costumes, particularly the black gown. In all the pictures I had seen of it it didn't really catch my eye, it seemed quite bland and not like the rest of her costumes. But it really was a beautiful dress. I was disappointed that they left out the peacock dress though, particularly seeing as it is in the official poster. But yes, the costumes are amazing!

anywho, that's all for now, hope you all have enjoyed the movie as much as I, and if you haven't seen it, I command you do so...NOW!!!
